Crythera Legal
Crythera End User License Agreement
Preamble
This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you and the operator of Crythera ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, accessing, or using Crythera, you agree to this EULA.
1. Definitions
- Service: Crythera clients, APIs, infrastructure, and related software.
- Content: Data submitted, transmitted, or stored through the Service.
- Account: Your authenticated user profile and credentials.
- Pre-release: Alpha, beta, preview, and experimental features.
2. License Grant
Subject to this EULA and applicable law, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purposes.
3. Eligibility and Account Security
- You must be legally capable of accepting these terms in your jurisdiction.
- You must provide accurate registration information.
- You are responsible for maintaining account and device security.
- You are responsible for activity performed through your account, subject to law.
4. Acceptable Use
- No unlawful, abusive, harassing, threatening, fraudulent, or malicious conduct.
- No malware distribution, unauthorized access attempts, or infrastructure interference.
- No bypassing security controls, moderation controls, or platform restrictions.
- No abusive/fraudulent use of reporting or moderation systems.
- No reverse engineering except where explicitly permitted by applicable law.
5. Moderation, Safety, and Enforcement
We may investigate and act on content or accounts to protect users and platform integrity, including limiting features, hiding/removing content, placing retention holds, suspending access, or terminating accounts.
Where reasonably necessary for safety, abuse prevention, legal compliance, incident response, or operations, actions may occur with or without prior notice.
6. End-to-End Encryption and Data Handling
- Many message paths are end-to-end encrypted and historical key recovery is generally not possible by design.
- Loss/reset/corruption of local cryptographic state can make older ciphertext unrecoverable.
- Report/escrow flows may expose specific reported content to authorized moderators under documented safeguards.
- You are responsible for using export/download workflows when retention is required.
7. Pre-release Risk Acknowledgment
- Uptime, compatibility, and persistence are not guaranteed in alpha/beta.
- Schema/protocol updates can invalidate client or key state.
- Backward compatibility and recovery paths may be limited.
8. User Content and Limited Service Rights
You retain rights to your content subject to law. You grant us the limited rights required to operate and secure the Service, including transmitting, storing, indexing metadata, and enforcing policy.
9. Third-Party Dependencies
Crythera may rely on third-party providers (identity/auth, TURN/STUN, storage, hosting, telemetry, CDN). Availability and constraints of those services can affect functionality.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, or for lost data, revenue, profits, goodwill, or business interruption arising from your use of Crythera.
12. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Crythera and its operators from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from your misuse of the Service, violation of this EULA, or violation of law.
13. Changes to Terms
We may update this EULA at any time. Updated versions include a new effective date/version. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
14. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access for policy violations, abuse, legal risk, or operational necessity. On termination, your license to use the Service ends immediately.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Process (Template Placeholder)
This section must be adapted by qualified counsel for your jurisdiction and legal entity, including governing law, venue, and arbitration/class-action language where applicable.
16. Contact
Questions can be directed to the support/legal contact listed in your deployment policy pages.
